Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting at a New West Hollywood Medical Cannabis Association
Los Angeles Dec 2, 2004 -- The Los Angeles Patients and Caregivers Group (LAPCG) is pleased to announce its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at our new home at 7213 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. Neighbors and community members are invited to join us to meet our staff, enjoy refreshments, and learn about this unique new business.
The LAPCG is a legally-organized medical cannabis (marijuana) association that provides safe access to medication for patients suffering from AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and other serious illnesses. The City of West Hollywood has always supported medical cannabis patients and providers, even in the face of federal opposition. We are excited to be a part of this tradition of compassion and courage.
In addition to medication, members of the LAPCG will also enjoy free life-enhancing services. Therapeutic massage, support groups, and educational events will all begin this winter. Members can also look forward to social activities and entertainment at the LAPCG. One of the most popular services we offer is a free peer counseling program that helps patients and their loved ones safely navigate the evolving legal and cultural issues surrounding medical cannabis use.
Together with our parent association, the Berkeley Patients Group, we provide substantial funding for organizations that are committed to protecting the rights of California’s medical cannabis patients and stopping the federal prosecution of seriously ill people. We provide sustaining support to Americans for Safe Access, the country’s largest and most effective medical cannabis advocacy campaign. We have also provided seed money for defendants in both US Supreme Court cases concerning this issue.
The LAPCG is looking forward to meeting all of our new neighbors and working together to help patients suffering from AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and other serious illnesses in our community.
