OXNARD, Calif. (AP) -- Police responding to a domestic disturbance call confiscated nearly 500 marijuana plants from an apartment.

Police arrived at the residence around 1 a.m. Saturday after getting a report of a couple fighting. They found a man, later identified as David Snyder, 26, with minor injuries. Snyder's wife, Kelly, 21, also had minor injuries.

The couple's two children, girls aged 2 and 3, were also present.

Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana, and a search turned up 492 marijuana plants being grown with a sophisticated hydroponic system. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $20,000, police said.

Police arrested the Snyders on suspicion of growing marijuana and possessing it for sale, domestic battery and child endangerment. The children were put in the care of relatives.
