Officers
from three law enforcement agencies have rounded up 17 adults and
juveniles in connection with an investigation into drug activity at
Los Gatos High School.
Los
Gatos/Monte Sereno police said they began the sweep at 7 a.m. Thursday
with help from the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team
and Campbell police.
Five
people were arrested on search warrants, and 12 more were picked up
later at the high school itself. Some students were pulled from their
classrooms.
The
arrests concluded an investigation during which a police officer enrolled
at the high school in September, spending the next months buying drugs
from students, former students and others, police said.
Those
arrested were booked on suspicion of crimes including sale or possession
of marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine or methamphetamine.
The
adults arrested were Luke Longberger, 18, Matt Weatherford, 19, Matthew
Shearer, 21, Spencer Griscom, 18, and Andrew Werth, 18, police said.
